The Streets of Duna City

Dresden was lounging on her torn-up couch in a ratty apartment somewhere in Duna City - the third one she'd hopped to this month to keep loose from the cops - flipping channels on her DataBook news stream. She chuckled briefly as she saw all the shit going down between Novalyse and the ADR.

"Poor fucks," she snarked as she flipped the channel again - just in time to see a news report of one of her old colleagues, "Doctor" Palacio, getting busted for something or other. The 'why' didn't really matter to her - just the 'where' and 'when.'

She hopped up, swiping a revolver off the table in front of her. She twirled it casually as she put a call through to Kytheria.

"Ring ring, Kyth."

Kytheria was out on the streets of Dun City when someone passed her as the looked up for their Databook then turned around and grabbed her shoulder. Recent news of the Eosa shooting at UOR had made her much more obvious to citizens of Deysha II and this one was no exception. The man yelled as her for a while as she stood with her head cocked to the side blatantly to disregard his arguments. He tried to shove her backward but she threw off his hand with ease, about to walk away and leave the bastard behind her until he said something that set her off.

"They never should've created your inferior race!" Kytheria turned around abruptly and kneed the man in the chest.

"Inferior?" she asked as she looked down at him. "The inferior one is on the ground." She grabbed him by his hair and pulled him up and punched him in the ribs before her phone started ringing.

"Ring ring, Kyth." she hear as she answered, dropping the poor sap and kicking him as few more times.

"Hey Dresden," she said as she kicked the bastard a final time and turned around abruptly and continued on her way.

"Sounds like you're havin' a good time," Dresden quipped as she heard the musical cadence of aggravated assault on the other end. "Hey, remember that Jared crackjob? Sucker got himself in jail." A clicking sound was audible from the other end - clickclickclick - the familiar sound of bullets being loaded into a chamber. "You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?"

Dresden and Kyth, if she was watching, would have heard he was arrested for kidnapping and testing unfinished versions of Electra on homeless people resulting in the death and horrible mental distress of many of the victims. He was being held in a high security prison while awaiting his sentencing which was more than likely going to be either life in prison or death. He had pleaded insanity, of course, and it was true, he was completely insane. 

Kytheria turned around and bent over, picking of the man's databook and turned the channel to see the report of Jared.  

"Jared got 'emself jacked.  What is your plan?"

"Meet at my place in ten? I'll have shit ready to go by then." She paused and took a hit off a cigarette, flicking the ashes idly. "I'm kinda glad this came up today - I was bored. Hey, what do you want me to pack for you?"

"I will be there, on my way now. I want that SMG that shoots quietly." she said as she turned into an alley for a shortcut to Dresden's house.

"Gotcha." Dresden clicked the cell off and tucked it into her back pocket before reaching for a hairtie. She swooped her hair back into a messy high ponytail and half-wrapped it, leaving a few loose strands hanging down. At least it was out of her face - clear shots, she reminded herself as she slid a black graffiti sweatband on to hold it up. From under her unmade bed, she slid out a locked crate. Weapons. She snapped on a belt with two slim holsters - holding a revolver on each side - and strapped a double barrel sawed-off over her shoulder, concealing it with a leather jacket that was riddled with scuff marks and tears. After sticking a combat knife into the side of her boot, she swiped Kyth's SMG and locked the crate back up.

"Later, Snappy." She offered a false salute to her highly illegal pet, a smuggled black market Novalysian scorpion (de-venomed, of course), who was happily munching on a half-eaten chunk of mystery meat in his terrarium across the room. "Sweet shit, you're just as ugly as ever. Love ya." She shut and locked her bedroom door and headed out of her run-down apartment building.

Kytheria made it there in time to catch Dresden on her way out the door. She trotted up nonchalantly and and stopped in front of the door with one hand on her hip. She wore torn up gray jeans with knee high leather boots over them, and a strapless graphic black and gray top with corset laces on each side, revealing her skin beneath them. Dresden would be able to see the leather holster that held two straight blade knifes under the back of her shirt, but to most it appeared to be some kind of bra.

"I'm here, you got the 'smig'?" she asked.

"Wouldn't let ya down, now would I?" She glanced briefly to the side - no one was around, at least no one that would give a shit - and then passed the SMG to Kyth, grip-first. "Safety's on, chick."

She kept walking around the back of the apartment building, slipping down an alleyway and out back towards the dumpsters. She couldn't help but chuckle at how clean and nice they tried to keep the well-to-do parts of Deysha, but here in the Duna slums, there were still trash piles behind the project buildings. Oh well, it didn't matter - roses out of concrete. She slipped behind one of the dumpsters where there was a little hidden nook behind the fence which was overgrown with weeds and who-knows-what. She then wheeled out her bike, a modded Deyshian military cycle which was technically street-illegal, but had been tweaked so far from its original form that it was hardly recognizable. She hopped on and the bike growled low as she pumped the engine and gestured for Kyth to join her.

"Good day for a ride."

Jared was sitting in his cell, scratching at his chin and the sides of his neck like he normally did, with his signature slight twitch. As the guards walked by he would look at each one of them, and counted how many different guards he could see and he had counted at least ten in the past hour.

His cell mate was his partner in crime, a chemistry student of Irish ancestry who had dropped out of college and moved to Duna to make money in the less than legal drug market and got dragged into working with Jared.

The boy asked in his heavy accent "What are we doing Mr. Palacio, are we just gonna stay 'ere and wait to get ganked by these fuckin police?"

Jared twitch slightly more and sighed "Shut the FUCK up kid, there is one person i think can still get us out of here….if we are lucky." he smirked slightly and twitched a bit again "so close i was so close, just a biiiit more, one more ingredient just one FUCKING more."  

Kytheria gripped the handle of the SMG and clicked off the safety and slung it over her shoulder. She followed Dresden through the familiar back streets of Duna, passing by the trash heaps and whatever else may be there.

"I have not ridden for such a long time." she said as she stepped over the back of the bike. She gripped under the seat to hold on and tapped Dresden on the shoulder with her other hand to let her know she was ready to go.

Dresden revved the engine and the bike jerked its way out of the alley. It'd normally be much quieter, just like other modern vehicles, but who knows what Dresden fucked up when she was tweaking the engine. She rolled it out onto the road and turned sharp, heading down one of the side-streets that would eventually lead towards the highway. Most other vehicles out there were the boring hovercars or hoverbikes that practically just drove themselves. That's how the government liked it - less risk. Fuck that, Dresden thought as she wove in and out of traffic. She cut people off without hesitation and got a few honks due to her reckless driving; she promptly responded to them with a courteous one-finger salute as she swept past traffic like it was sitting still.

Kytheria held the seat with one hand as Dresden drove irresponsibly throughout the streets of Duna City, offering the occasional obscene or flirtatious gestures to those they passed by. Human reactions to these actions were interesting to her, but less so that they had been when she first came to Deysha II. She settled down and thought about the danger of what they were driving into but brushed it off with thoughts of why she was here in the first place.

Dresden continued plowing down the crowded main streets of Deysha before she spun the bike down a side-street and into an alleyway. A shortcut - one of the many perks of growing up in this shit-hole of a city.

"Thought about how we're gonna get in?" She chuckled as the prison came into view in the distance. It was on the outskirts of the city, surrounded by walls and tucked off into an industrial district as if it was out of sight, out of mind. It was a sort of processing house - most people that got thrown in that place either didn't make it out to see daylight again, or would just be shipped to some other prison. Maybe one on the far reaches of the Deyshian ocean, hundreds of miles away from civilization, or shot out into orbit where they were conveniently forgotten. Didn't really matter.

She rode up until they were about a city block and a half away. "As good a spot as any to hoof it," she said decisively as she stopped the bike, shut it off, and propped it up against the wall around back of some abandoned building.

Kyth looked over Dresden's shoulder toward the prison, unsure of how they would be able to infiltrate it without being noticed immediately.

"Don't know," she said as the bike stopped and she swung her leg over its body quickly. "We going to just walk in this time or have you got something up your sleeve?"

"Last time we walked in didn't go so well." Grinning, she lit a cigarette as they walked closer. "And I can't tap their security. They're too solid. I'm thinking...what goes up, must come down. Through the roof. You know?"

As they walked closer, Dresden scoped out the prison's security. It had been awhile since she cased it and wanted to see if there were any vulnerabilities that they could take advantage of.

As they looked around casing the security of the prison, they would notice it was higher than the last few times they may have had to bust someone out. It the roof was less heavily guarded than the entrances of course and their options seemed limited, fight their way in and be swarmed by all the guards, or get up to the roof break in and get swarmed by less guards for awhile, before the rest make it.

"Yeah, that looks safer than knocking the front door," she said as she looked around.  "Won't be hard to get there, but getting down doesn't look particularly easy."

"We'll have to get creative, I suppose. C'mon - let's see what we can do." Dresden swooped back to the bike and grabbed something out of the saddlebags, and then jogged ahead towards a nearby construction site. It had long since been abandoned and picked clean by hobos and looters. At least it served as a way to get closer to the exterior prison walls without getting noticed. Security was up, and they had to be smart. Well, smarter than usual.

Dresden and Kytheria slinked through the cover of the construction site. There would undoubtedly be guards patrolling the walls, and the less attention they attracted, the better. They reached the wall and Dresden kept her hand tucked inside her jacket, looking up to see what she could see.

Around the wall she has reached there was five guards patrolling on top of it that she could see, and none of them had seemed to notice them. They would have to move quickly though, as a small patrol of 3 guards was walking through the old construction site, apparently the had gotten smart and were patrolling the abandoned site now, after a few people had tried to use this area for break outs and attacks in the past.

Dresden gestured to Kyth to stay back and get low. Normally, she'd pop the guards and be done with it - but their subtle approach would go straight out the window. She slipped behind a large metal beam that would've been one of the supports of the new building, had it been finished. It wasn't the best hiding spot, but it'd have to do until the guards passed. She kept still and held her breath.

Kytheria instinctively crouched on all fours and slinked back out of sight. Her posture like a wild animal more than human as she moved seamlessly from across the ground toward what was left of a half built wall. She reached up under the back of her shirt with one hand, the other firmly placed on the ground, gripping one of the knifes in her holster...just in case.

Dresden kept one hand tucked into her jacket, ready to draw. She was itching to roll out, guns blazing, and make this shitty construction dump the last thing these guards would see. But she had to play it cool, or they'd never get inside. She stayed low and listened for the guards to pass - hopefully.

:: Shinji had been following the 2 girls for awhile for 3 reasons. They had a REAL bike just like him, they had weapons on them, and they were damn hot. Once they stopped and started casing the prison it only peaked his interest even more, he quietly watched from bout 50-60 yards away as they started sneaking through the old contruction site (( since its not in his fact book yet >_> he wears a black leather trench with sleeves torn off, a sleevless tight fitting red ribbed shirt Dark brown tactical style khaki's and recon tac combat boots, he's also got tribal tattoo's on both arms) When he saw the guards getting closer he grimaced:: thats not cool..... and no fun if they get caught before I atleast can get a number.....or somthing.... :: he picked up a rock and hurled it at one of the guard aiming to hit a leg or thigh:: HEY FUCKING PIGS :: he stumbles out looking drunk and then turns and pulls his pants down slapping his ass:: get the hell, ouutta mah house...your.....your not welcome in here :: he then stumbles away pullin his pants up and stumbles away into the opposite direction hoping they give chase::
