The Streets of Duna City

Kythe stayed watch outside the surveillance balcony to make sure Dresden's back was covered she tried to help Jared out of the cell block.

"You're damn straight," Dresden chuckled, "it takes talent to stir up this much shit and then survive it." She looked around, searching for any way to get him up from the thirty-feet-or-so drop to the balcony, and the upper level.

"Wouldn't happen to have a goddamn ladder handy, would you," Dres snarked as she peered around for anything that could be useful. "Any ideas?" She reloaded her revolver and then took another couple shots at another guard that had noticed her,

:: shinji entered the balcony and after picking up who Dresden was talking to took out his Katana and switched it to its rifle sight mode and began picking off guards that might hamper the good Dr's escape:: any idea of the structural integrity of the roof here? if you can blast a whole with a grenade or somthing we could all leave from right here, my ships outfitting with a fast extraction latter

"Dresden? When exactly did we get the one cascadian who doesn't have the heart of a nun?"

"Blowing holes in things happens to be my specialty," Dres smirked. "How close is your ship? Can we keep the porkchops off us long enough?" Dresden went fishing through her jacket to find something capable of taking out a good portion of the roof. She shouted back to Jared, half-laughing. "I dunno, you meet the strangest people when you're blowing up prisons!"

Sometimes, to make a difference you need to take off kid gloves and be the bad guy to get shit done

Kythe looked back into the balcony again as she heard footsteps closing in from the distance, her Eosene hearing alerted her long before the others heard any trace of the sound of dozens of soldiers closing.

"Hurry up...I hear them coming, we ain't got much time!"

::checks his wrist gauntlet thingy:: 2 minutes away its in upper atmos above us. if you can take out that roof we'll be scott free and you can tell me what the hell i got myself into.

"That'll take longer than two minutes, Casc-boy." Dresden fished another grenade out of her jacket; it was the last she had, so she had to make it count. "Alright! Clear the motherfuckin' way!" She pressed the activation button and held it in, timing it as closely as she could. She had to cook it just enough so that it would explode nearly on impact with the roof. "GET THE FUCK DOWN!"

Trust me, my ship is fast, 2 minutes was at most :: ducks::

Kythe crouches down covering her head with her arms in case the damage from the grenade spread outside the cell block. The reverberation of footsteps flowed through the floor alerting Kythe even more that there was about to be an onslaught of soldiers heading through the same halls they had once taken. She quickly stood without care to the explosion and headed toward the control room.

"I meant for us to tell you what you had gotten yourself into, because - shit, nevermind!" She almost spent so long yelling over the gunfire that she overcooked the grenade. She slung it hard, straight at the center of the ceiling, and thankfully it struck true. The grumbling, thunderous explosion of the heavy frag shook through the building as it vibrated the walls. Rubble and debris came crumbling down and showering into the center of the cell block in huge chunks of reinforced metal and clouds of concrete dust. The prison walls were reinforced strongly enough to stop most break-out attempts, but a blatant grenade to the roof clearly wasn't planned for by the engineers. It took a big enough bite out of the roof that it would probably make for a decent escape.

"Bullseeeeye," Dres bragged after coughing from the dust cloud. She reloaded her revolvers once more, and then slung her shotgun off of her back and went to help Kyth cover the doorway. "Give us a heads-up when it's time to roll, Casc. We'll cover this."

Jared sighed "for fuck sake this is about to be the longest two minutes of my life. I can't help much I already use my tooth pill"

His apprenticed stuttered "I stole this gun...."

Jared glared at him "then use it and help dres and kyth, and the cascadian too."

ok.......  :: sticks his wrist out over the edge of the balcony and a blue beam would  scan the room quickly he   pulled his hand back and tinkered a bit  setting 2 points of extraction :: DR its very important you DONT move  from where you are RIGHT now, would want to take a   anchoring harpoon through the chest

:: within thirty second a rather heavy wind would start pelting the cell block as the ship toar through the sky at much faster than safe planetary speed and stopped above the hole, a few more moments and a metal pole with rungs extruding from the sides in a staggered pattern lowered down, and 2 harpoons shot out of it one hitting right next to the balcony bout 6 inches away from Dresdens head, and the other sailed right by the good Dr and into the wall next to him about chest level. DR harpoon bas has a gravity climber, just grab it and HOLD THE FUCK ON it'll pull you to the ladder then climb out fast and dont even think about poking around my ship, he repeated himself to Kyth and Dresden::

Loud shotgun blasts and assault rifle fire came from the hallway as heavily armed and armored SWAT soldiers started pouring in, taking no time to ask questions. They began shooting on sight and the hallway very quickly became a death trap.

"Kyth, move back! C'mon, go go go!" Dresden moved to the side of the hallway and used the doorway for cover to try and give Kyth enough time to make it to the balcony and get up first.

Jared grabs his and nods "alright I'm good lets do this!" He was very happy to be getting out of here

Kythe slung her SMG off her shoulder, shooting the first SWAT that came pouring out of the control room. She backed up as she unleashed bullets on the funnel which the soldiers had to come through. As soon as her clip clinked empty she turned and bolted toward the balcony, reaching out for the wire.

The first dozen SWAT soldiers poured in through the confirmed point of enemy entry - the control room hallway which led to the observation deck. They quickly called their targets on the two enemy hostiles - Kyth and Dresden - which were visible from the corner.

The military helicopter outside swung itself around in position and began to open fire at the unidentified aircraft over the prison. It was designed for ground suppression comat and not offensive tactics against actual spacecraft; nonetheless its gatling gun and light rocket launchers started to unload at Shinji's ship.

Meanwhile, three other teams broke into other entry points in the prison and began to converge on the actively escaping cell block prisoners. It would take them a few short moments to traverse the prison, but shouts and heavy footsteps were heard swarming in. A light assault tank pulled up to the side of the police blockade as an urban emergency response team rolled in with high-lethality military grade equipment.

:: The slip streams defense system was active and as soon as the helicopter opened fire space fighter class cascadian plasma cannons opened fire::
::shinji holstyered his katana on his back and peaked out letting loose bullets at the swat behind kyth:: Alright Missy, once your attractive but rather cold friend is headed up your next

The helicopter was promptly decimated by the cannons. It came raining down over top of the prison and the courtyard in a shredded heap of hot metal, crashing into the side of the walls. The tank locked onto the ship and let loose a barrage of decisively heavier cannon-fire.

It wasn't long after the response teams busted into the prison that they made their way through to the cell block. There was a distinctive click...roll...POP noise and a cloud of thick gas began to disperse from a launched cannister into the cell block. It slowly radiated into the room, and prisoners that were caught too close to the murky cloud were knocked unconscious after a few seconds' exposure. Another cannister was launched across the other side of the room. They were attempting to neutralize everyone before moving in.

Kythe grabbed hold of the wire and held on tightly as she was pulled up from the balcony toward the massive ship above. She didn't like having to rely on Shinji but she knew it was their only way out at this point and trusted him, for now.

::curses as he looks at his wrist:: they've a god damn tank....... Cant activate full shields untill we're inside....... ammo seems like standard planetary ammunition should do much more than scuff the grown cascadium but stay steady is gonna strain the thrusters while under fire:; MOVE IT ABIT QUICKER LADIES WE GOT A TANK OUT THERE

Another cannister popped into the cell block, and then the response team began swarming. Anything that was still moving was immediately shot at by precise, rapid-fire shots. They would start moving in quickly, giving the escapees in the center of the room barely enough time.

"Aw, hell naw," their newfound prison buddy yelled as he kicked the third cannister back at them and clunked one of the soldiers in the chest, sending him stumbling backwards as the high-pressure gas popped right in their formation. Regardless of their rebreathers which kept them from any of the negative effects, their vision was slightly obscured. "Go, lil bitch, GO!" Unless Jared's accomplice resisted, he would promptly bear-hug him and swing him up towards the rope.

"Ain't gotta tell me twice," Dresden emptied her last shotgun rounds into the approaching guards without any more time to reload. "Well fuck this." She slung her empty shotgun onto her back, out of time to keep them at bay any longer. It looked as if they might close in on her and Shinji before she could make it back across the balcony and to the extraction point. Desperately, she turned to head back through the doorway, almost expecting to get shot in the back, and then noticed something...

"Heeell yeah," she yelled boisterously as she slammed her fist down on the security lock button on the other side of the door. She slid through onto the balcony just in time before the heavy metal door slammed shut, putting a temporary barricade between the approaching guards and Dresden and Shinji on the balcony. She sprinted across and leapt for the zipline, grabbing and holding on tight.

By this time Kythe had already been pulled well up into the air toward the Cascadian ship. She pulled herself inside, looking back at Jared and his assistant before slinging her SMG off her shoulder and popping rounds through the opening of the ceiling at the guards below, trying to give Shinji and Dresden cover to make it inside the ship.
