The Streets of Duna City

Dresden froze still behind the beam as she heard voices. Another damn drunk, harassing the guards. What convenient timing. She peeked out for just a brief second when she was sure the guards would be looking in the opposite direction, towards the noise, to see what the hell was going on.

The guards saw the 'drunk' and yelled after him to stop and two of them followed quickly with their guns drawn and ready to fire. The other stayed just incase he either somehow managed to sneak around or if there were more. The random drunk had been a fantastic distraction for them.

Dresden flashed forward quickly as the remaining guard had his back to her. With her combat knife held in an icepick grip, she grabbed him hard by the shoulder and plunged her blade towards the weak vital point underneath the guard's helmet. She aimed straight for the neck, attempting to thrust it in and completely incapacitate him quickly and quietly.

The guard was quickly dispatched, but she should probably hide the body as it may alert the other guards if they come back and the coast was pretty much clear down there at this point, but there was still the issue of the 5 guards along the top of the wall.

She gave an extra twist, just to make sure, before she yanked the guard's motionless corpse behind the cover of the metal beam. There were a few drops of blood that fell to the concrete before she could toss the bleeding body, severed artery and all, out of sight. She knew that he'd probably have some kind of vitals check system within his armor, something that could alert the other guards, and so she looked for where it would be so she could disable it.

She then fished around for anything that he might have useful on him - a key card or a comm unit, maybe - and then noted what kind of gun he had, in case she might want to take it along as a souveneir.

While she was looking through the body, she would notice a small signal device on him with his vitals, it had been sending a signal for a few seconds now, so hopefully she could break it before anyone noticed. His gun was nothing special though it did appear to have a few upgrades to it that could be cool.

While Dresden was occupied Kyth would notice a few of the guards from the wall shining their lights down into the construction site, it was likely someone had gotten the guards signal and thought it was fishy.

Dresden was busy messing around with the guard's corpse, breaking his signal device as quickly as possible and snooping at his gun and through his pockets - hey, maybe he'd have a grenade on him or something. Half-satisfied, she clicked one of the various weapon attachments off his gun and stuffed it into her pocket. Could be useful later. Or expensive. Whatever.

Kytheria drew the knife from her back and leaned back against the half built wall. She quickly tore a leg from her pants and wrapped it up, starting to cry. Her eyes glinted sharply, like an animal looking into a flashlight as the lights passed over her.

"H...hello?" she said meekly to try to draw them away from Dresden. "please... do you have any food....my baby is starving." Kyth held the wrapped up cloth close to her chest as if it were a child, the knife hidden behind it.

One of the guards would see Kyth and they would all shine their lights toward her, and against their better judgement one of them came down via a stair case and door apparently built into the wall to allow easy access in and out in case the guards needed out to get outside of inside quickly. He was coming down to offer her help, some food maybe. 

Dresden did find two canisters of tear gas on him, no normal grenades though sadly.

Dresden hardly noticed. She was too busy stuffing her pockets full of the guard's looted shit. She looked up briefly when she heard Kyth's voice, finally starting to pay attention to what was going on.

Kytheria shivered as tears ran down her face, cuddling the rags in her arms.

"Please help my baby..." she said as the guard came down from the staircase. "I don't have anything...please, someone stole the money I had to buy milk." Kytheria looked up at the guard with her eyes glistening from the tears rolling down her face.



As the guard approached he listened to what the young girl was saying. 'A girl this young on the streets with a baby,' he thought 'Paras needs to do something more for the poverty in this city.'

"It's going to be alright ma'am, is your child okay? Do you need to go the the hospital?" he asked when he got close to her. He tried to peer into the wrappings the child was in but he couldn't see for how closely the woman was holding it.

"No, no hospitals. I don't have anything to pay them, please just help my baby."

"Its going to be alright ma'am," he said again to reassure her. He pressed the button on his headset and called for two of the other guards to come down. "Tell me what happened, when did this person steal your money?" The other men jogged down the stairs quickly, seeing as there was a child involved and waited to receive assignment.

"Around the corner, someone hit me and took my wallet. Its all I had, my baby's going to die now," she cried. "He was kinda tall with brown hair...it was on a few blocks maybe? He said he'd kill my baby." she began sobbing more as she looked down as the bundle in her arms.

"Its alright ma'am, we're not going to let that happen, you two go find him, he can't be far from here," the first guard said as the other two ran out from the construction site. "You and your baby are going to be alright, okay? You don't need to cry anymore."

Oh, Kyth, you're such a charmer, Dresden thought as she used the diversion to slip against the exterior wall of the prison. She had a clear view of the door, and her way up to where the two other guards were waiting. She thumbed at her revolver, but left it. Too noisy. She wanted to get as far inside as she could without a sound. Knife in hand, she slithered through the open door and started to creep up the stairs.

The guards up top were keeping an eye on the construction site, craning to see. "Unit 43, what's the sitch out there?" No response. Dresden slipped past the doorway quickly, and was now on top of the wall. She itched to take these guards out, but there was no point. It'd just draw too much attention. She skirted along in the opposite direction, hugging the wall tightly to stay hidden, and then slipped towards one of the guardhouses - a little command booth on the perimeter wall. She delicately pulled out a tiny metal chip from her pocket - an EMP jammer - and flipped it on. The thing was weak and would only manage to jam the heavy security systems for maybe half a minute before they detected it and overrode it automatically. That was all the time she needed.

Inside the guardhouse, there was a guard sitting at a desk. The poor chump was facing away from the door, munching on some omnombars and dicking around with the controls. By the time he heard the click of a gun behind him, it was too late. Dresden had it against his temple, with her knife held in the other hand against his throat.

"Open the helpiad gate. Nice and easy. Don't even think about going for the panic button - I know your fuckin' games."

The guard fumbled nervously, and reached for the gate entry request. "I-I have to send it through to main control..."

"Shh. Go ahead and signal it through. Tell them that the rations transport is en route, or some shit. Don't sound so nervous."

He hit the button, trembling. "R-requesting entry to the helipad gate. Rations transport is en route."

"Roger, Outpost A4 - access granted in one-twenty seconds. You sure the transport was scheduled for today? Thought it was next week."

The guard had to think quick; the implements of death aimed right at his face gave him little choice otherwise. "The, uh, the warehouse got an overfill shipment. Said they're packed."

"...roger, A4. Over."

And then with a subtle slash, the guard gripped at the gaping wound in his throat and Dresden shoved him into a slump down on the floor. She had just enough time to deactivate the feed to the main control room inside - after all, security would quickly be able to pick up on the fact that half their patrol was missing, and now the guardtower was hit. Wasting no time with the few precious moments she had, she stripped the guard's helmet and flak jacket - it'd be more of a disguise than her street clothes. She dug into her gear until she found what she was looking for - a compact handsaw, the kind that handimen might use for a craft project or safe-breakers might use to pop through some metal. She clicked it onto the ceiling of the guardtower, set the controls for a 2x2 square, and waited as it buzzed and ate an outline through the roof. The thing was as quiet as it could be, but still hissed and whirred as it cut through the material.

Her plan was to get on the roof, get inside and to the main control room, fuck the systems up, and get to Jared. She hoped Kyth would have everything ready for a getaway.

Jared sat in his cell and scratched at his arms and waited, he assumed they would come tonight, it makes most sense to get him the day he was imprisoned…he really hoped one of them had a working databook on them.

Shinji had led them to the basement level for what ever the site was going to be and waited, the concrete would fuck their comm systems enough. That he could take them out and connect their vital monitors to himself , he hoped . So he waited for them to enter the dark unlit room, keeping his eyes squinted to stem their blue glowiness

Once Dresden made it passed the guards and the others had gone out to look for the assailant that robbed her she looked up at the guard again with her glistening eyes, still wet from crying. She smiled faintly as he looked back at her.

"Thank you," she said as she got up from the ground. "No one else would believe me because of what happened at the UOR..."

The guard looked back as the woman sympathetically, rooting through his pockets for something to give to her while they waited for the others to return. He came up with a sealed package of Omnom Bars and offered them out to her and the child.

"Here, its not much but it should help."

Kytheria stepped close to the guard to accept the package when she dropped the bundle and plunged her knife between his vest and arm, aiming to reach his heart. He groaned in pain as she ripped the vital system from his body and lowered him down to the ground. His eyes went dull as he bled out. Kyth took a step back and let his body fall face down to the ground as she walked around him and climbed the stairs. One of the two guards left on the wall moved toward the guardhouse after the gate of authorized the gates to open while the remaining one looked around for the other guards to return. He turned just as Kyth went to sneak passed him and held her at gunpoint.

"Hold up, drop your weapons and get down on your knees!"

Kytheria obliged, shedding the SMG from her shoulder and laying her knife down beside her as she knelt. The guard walked toward her as he reached back for his cuffs when she swung a low kick, striking his ankles and causing him to fall backward and off the wall. With the guard dispatched she moved toward the guardhouse.

:: As Shinji waited in the dark, the guards eventually found their way down into the basement, trying to coax the drunk out. Shinji just shook his head and smiled. Once the 2 guards got further into the room Shinji snuck up behind them quietly and grabbed the back of both of their helmets and flipped himself backward pulling them backward and head over heels before he he let go letting them fall onto their back abruptly as they lay there catching their breath for that one moments he quickly leveled both his pistols at their heads::
Shinji-"Why don't you kindly discard your weapons by tossing them over to the stair well and then toss your helmets afterward"
Guard1- " are you crazy you wouldn't shoot us this close to the wall besides our operator can hear everything we're saying"
Shinji- " Your 2 floors under an abandoned dessicated construction site full of concrete your signal is MAYBE some static, and IF anyone heard my shots, by the time they found their way down here I'd be gone. So again lets toss those weapons over by the stairs followed by your helmets, nice and easy.
:: the guards both grumble but comply and do as told, Shinji smiles:: now why don't you both turn around and look down at your feet. As they do he flips the guns in his hands and brings the grip down hard on the back of both of their heads knocking them out. he takes 10 minutes to disengage their comms fully, and pull their vital monitor and attach both to himself, 1 directly the other tapped atop a ripped piece of their under armor padding to slightly distort the signal so they aren't identical. after wards he strips the both of them and bends 1 of them over the bunched up pile of cloths and armor, and then bends the other one ever him crotch to ass and then binds them together VERY tightly together he also entwines their fingers together before binding their hands together. and sets 3 flash-bang grenades right in front of them with their pins pulled and their grips tied on loosely with the ends of the binding holding them so intimately together making sure they wont struggle to got out at least not at first. He then takes the weapons and heads up and back to where the girls were when he see's the aftermath::
Shinji-"well..... they used my distraction.......how the hell are they planning on getting outta there....what the hell i'm already helping might aswell help more"
:: Shinji heads in the same way they both did and follows Kyth's path of death::
" Oh i like these girls.....

After Dresden's handsaw ate a jagged hole through the ceiling of the guardhouse, she hoisted herself up and gained access to the roof. She knew that she had a matter of seconds before the guards would spot her, and she sprinted towards the helipad entrance which had received the order to open. She cleared an open area of the roof and then came to the fenced area designed for choppers to land - leaping up without hesitation, she cleared it as quickly as possible and cascaded to the other side. She drew a revolver - of course, the noise of a fence-climber would attract the already alert guards.

From the side of the building, Kyth and Shinji would start to hear gunshots. The hard, cracking velocity of a revolver. The purring growl of SMG's and the intimidating barrage of assault rifles. The shots went on for a second, and then - the loud, ear-shattering boom of a shotgun blaring through the air. And then the shots went silent, and a whirring alarm started to go off with flashing red lights atop and inside the prison alerting that there was an intruder inside.

Well.... that doesnt sound good...... :: lifts his wrist and pushes his sleeve up revealing a sleek cascadium looking wrist thingy and punches a few buttons in that would set his ships auto pilot to prep and be ready to tear ass out of its hiding place somewhere in Duna city outskirts:: Better catch up with 1 of them :: hustles::

The commotion was unmistakable. Dresden had somehow made her way in through the breached helipad gate, and was now weaving through the prison's hallways. She knew the place well - perhaps too well. To get to the main control room, she'd have to distract the guards...and the timed explosive charge that she set and threw down into the main lobby would likely be a wonderful way of accomplishing that. A few gunshots later, and she was at the security door. She blasted out the armed security turret across the hallway, then clicked the handsaw onto the door. Now, it was a waiting game. She kept her shotgun trained down the opposite end of the hallway for any guards unlucky enough to come up and engage her.

Jared would clearly be able to hear the commotion. The cells would be locked down and the entire prison would be on alert as hordes of guards rushed through the hallways and cell-blocks, clearing the areas of any visible attackers. If he wasn't too busy tweaking out, he might start to realize that this was a life-or-death situation...and a potential chance for escape.

A Deyshian guard ran through Jared's cell-block, shouting orders and brandishing his gun at the prisoners. "Everyone, to the backs of your cells! Hands up and behind your head! Nobody move! We have a red alert!"

As Jared heard all the commotion he had a guess of what was happening and he chuckled to himself as he scratched his neck some more "knew they would come, coulda been fucking sooner though…maybe a bit less LOUD!" When the guard came him and his side kick did as they were told, but he had a trick up his sleeve incase he needed to us it. As a fugitive and a chemist  he was prepared for most scenarios, one of his favorite tricks was a false tooth that was filled with a chemical that would explode into red smoke if he threw at the ground. Of course it was a one off, but he would just replace it when he got back to a suitable lab. For now he waited for them to get him out.

"Kaboom, you fuck-wit," Dresden whispered under her breath as the shell-casings from her homemade double barrel shotgun clicked onto the floor. She stepped past the blood-splatter on the wall, which was most of what was left of the guard that had come jogging down the hallway to inspect the sound of her buzzsaw cutting through the control room door. How unlucky for that poor bastard, she thought. As soon as she was done reloading, the handsaw had finished eating its way through. She detached it and slithered inside, blasting her way through the civilian personnel which were holed up inside.

The control panel was, of course, encrypted and password-protected. As soon as Dresden managed to fish out a key-card from one of the dead civilians' coat pockets, she set to work trying to get through the system. She wasn't the greatest hacker. In fact, she hated electronics. She bashed her fists down on the damn thing a few times, frustrated that her very basic cracking skills seemed to be ineffective here.

An explosion from the main lobby rocked the building violently. Dresden's timed explosive had gone off quite successfully, and now the attention of the guards (at least, the ones that were still alive) was drawn away from Dresden in the control room. She had a few more precious moments to try and make her way through the system.

Kytheria followed Dresden's path of destruction without care to the dead bodies that lay on the ground. She kept going in hopes of catching up with Dres and finding their college.

Shinji, hurried ahead and could see Kytheria ahed of him :: HEY WAIT UP!!! :: catches up to her:: what is your friend doing?? she's gonna bring this place down on our heads
