A Wanderer in Trader's Point

"No questions, I understand the liability of leaving." Nathan said as she signed the last form and stacked the others neatly on top of it. "Here is all of the paperwork."

She took the paperwork, nodding suspiciously and wondering why the man would so badly want to risk his well-being. Nonetheless, she took it and, after exchanging some information with the police and other hospital staff, returned to the room with a small box that contained any of Nathan's belongings that they had picked up along the way including his wallet and ID.

Passat oversaw the whole operation, occasionally making a call. Dembry was in and out, helping the whole process of checking out an almost fatally wounded man with surprising speed.

Finally, Bonnie announced that everything was in order, and Passat confirmed that Steele would have a ride waiting for him immediately outside of the hospital. Nahdra watched the whole ordeal with great interest, and stood next to Nathan as she waited for what would happen next.

"Whenever you're ready, Mr. Steele. It's not too late to change your mind, if you don't feel you should go..." Passat offered a final out, just in case.

Nathan pulled his jacket over his arms and straightened the collar out before digging into the box of his belongings. He began putting them in certain pockets very in a rehearsed calculated way, each thing having to be in a certain spot in a specific pocket. He got to the package, he held it for a second longer before passing it in hand off toward Nahdra.

"I'm ready when you are."

"Very well then," Passat nodded and gave the word. He walked next to Nathan to help him out of the room, prepared to physically assist if need be, but kept a respectable distance.

Nahdra took the package delicately and tucked it away for safe-keeping. She took Nathan's other side as they left the room.

Outside, just as promised, Steele had an armed police escort waiting for him. Two officers waited ahead by the ambulance exit and two waited outside the room. They had already cleared the area a few times over, and everything was safe and sound for Nathan to advance to the exit and prepare to be loaded up for transport.

Nathan stopped outside the van and briefly surveyed the number of armed officers there were, significantly more than he had wanted but not as many as he would expect for the transport of a wanted ex-military Novalysian. This at least for the time being laid his mind to rest, he knew he wasn't going to get killed as soon as he got to the Khrysis System.

"Once I've gotten what I need from the apartment we can depart from the planet."
